More on Route 36 here: Taken with a Nikon F-501 SLR and 75-200mm zoom lens PLR-721 12/15 Varna - Transexpress Gmbh, Bulgaria ![]() Interestingly, as can be see from the 'Ian's Bus Stop' detailed history below, RM625 was withdrawn and sent to store at the old AEC factory in Southall in 1987, but was 'resuscitated' in 1990 for another four years of service!Ĥ/61 WN into service on 127, 259, 269 (Wood Green)ġ1/80 BX transfer into store (Bexleyheath)Ĩ/90 PM in service on 12 to Trafalgar Square $Ĥ/95 bought by Chester Bus & Boat, Chesterġ995 open-top conversion (Wilkinson, Scarborough)ĩ5-96 in service, Chester Bus & Boat Tours RM625 was one of the last in service with one of the early bodies with non-opening top deck front windows, which only applied to the first 250 Routemasters, which then got switched around the fleet during Aldenham overhauls. ![]() Riding the platform is one of my happy memories of travelling by bus in London in the 1970s and 80s. RM625 (WLT 625) seen in Sangley Road, Catford. I went out onto the suburban streets with my trusty Nikon for one last look. In the Spring of 1991, Routemaster Route 36 was cut back from Hither Green to Catford, and peak only Route 36A from Victoria to Brockley Rise was withdrawn completely on 27th April.
